Psychoanalytic Pioneers

Psychoanalysis as a living, growing science is illumined brightly by this examination of the biographies of its foremost exponents. Forty individuals are presented, ranging from early workers such as Abraham, Ferenczi, Jung and Adler to contemporary thinkers such as Alexander, Hartmann, Anna Freud and Erikson. Two additional chapters deal with special developments in the U.SA. and Eng-land. There is the usual unevenness in a book with as many contributors as chapters, but the wealth of material reveals a unique collaboration of many authors with their subjects.
